Why 2 inputs?
« on: 11 Nov 2022, 10:29 pm »
As a hopeless audiophile wannabe with no time, can someone help me understand what these are on the back of my Tower ii's?

From the top:
Switch to combine or separate the binding post pairs for single or bi-wiring.
Woofer/mid binding posts.
L-pad to adjust the ribbon tweeter level.
Tweeter binding posts.

Yeah, this would've eliminated a lot of confusion on my end. Thank you for posting that.
So when connecting separate woofer & tweeter plugs (using all 4 inputs) I'd set it to Biamp, correct?

Yes. But also keep in mind that the way these crossovers work, you have the woofers and mids on one circuit, and the tweeters and supertweeters on the other. So, since the mids are not with the tweeters, you get very minimal benefit (power wise) from bi-amping.

You're right davidc1, but I'm working with what I have at the moment. If you see a better route I'm all ears. I don't want to rewire the crossovers though.

I agree with DavidC1. Due to the crossover configuration the woofers and mids have to stay together. The frequency split for biamping is quite high, around 4.5KHz if I remember correctly between mids and dome tweeter.
