I'm once again, getting out of headphones as I find I almost never use them.  They are easily 9/10 condition with box, paperwork and two sets of ear pads.  These are easy to drive, unlike the HE-6.  They are planar headphones and sound great.  They retail for $699.00.  I have a modded Melos Sha-Gold amplifier which works well with the HE-500.  The amp has a slight hum with low impedance headphones but not with the HE-500.  I do not know anything about the mods.  The amp runs well.  These seem to go for as much $700 or $800 on the used market.  Pics will be posted later.

Oh yes, the HiFiMan headphones are great and this is the easiest to drive of the bunch (unlike my HE-5LEs). I had a chance to compare the HE-5LE, HE-500 and HE-6 at a Chicago meet-up and found that they all sounded very close to each other. I was very relived that the comparison (true, not done in ideal conditions) didn't leave me lusting for HE-6s. And that comparison was done on very appropriate amplification.
