Introduction:

The Behringer DCX2496 is the processor needed when it comes to line level crossover applications (its processed in the digital domain!!) and some light system room equalization as well. The downfalls of this commericial peice is the lack of quality of parts used within.  We have designed some really great modification improvement packages to take the parts quality up to the highest levels in the power supply, input stage, DSP stage, analog output stage , and lowering jitter in the critical DSP section as well to make the processing work much better. The end results now is a much more wider, taller and deeper sounding crystal clear, dynamic and resolute performance that will make your application, or more specifically the Emerald Physics CS2 loudspeaker system really sing.  Everyone who owns the CS2's needs this mod package to really experience the most out of those speakers! DCX2496 Modification Descriptions

Power Supply, Input stage, and Output Stage Modifications-

We replace critical capacitors and diodes in the SMPS power supply with Ultra Low Impedance Rubycon capacitors and ultra fast diode rectifiers. The Rubycon caps are very fast reacting capacitors. The numerous input and output stage opamps are replaced with the best sounding, most transparent versions currently on the market by national semiconductor and all the coupling/decoupling capacitors used are replaced with the Rubycon Ultra Low Impedance caps. We replace a critical +5vdc voltage regulator that power the critical DSP circuits with the new DEXA UWB ultra low noise regulator for increased performance to those respective circuits. This upgrade removes glare, removes grain, removes the stock high frequency problems, and adds speed, dynamics and resolution and openess.

DEXA Reference Clock Upgrade-

We add a reference quality jitter reduction circuit called DEXA clock to replace the stock 24/96khz circuit reference crystal oscillator for a drastic reduction in jitter in the digital circuits. Expanded soundstages, additional low level detail, focus and resolution are examples of this major mod component. The DEXA clock has a very unique feature, unlike other clocks on the market, as the clock signal is isolated from the power supply ground, so you get no ground loop, and also you get no Mains Noise injection.  This eliminates the need of a dedicated (and costly) external dedicated power supply for the new clock.

Behringer Digital Input/Custom Digital Outputs, Power Supply & DSP Board Modifications

Introduction:

The Behringer DCX2496 is the processor needed when it comes to line level crossover applications (its processed in the digital domain!!) and some light system room equalization as well. The typical analog domain parts improvement approach is most commonly taken with great results (look above). For the purists, ASi is first to offer a complete 100% true digital input to output Behringer DCX2496. Basically you connect your digital source (ie: computer audio, cd transport, etc..) and there is 3 SPDIF outputs (1 coaxial out per 2 channels) that can be connected to a digital receiver(s) or processor. The signal inside the Behringer stays 100% pure digital! We will also be releasing a new custom mod for the Panasonic XR55 and XR57 (100% digital receivers) to accept these signal and be able to biamp or triamp your speakers via using only one low cost panasonic receiver for stellar results since the entire system will be digital based.

Digital Input and Output stage-
The digital input section is redesigned to make it completely optimal for an incoming SPDIF signal. A new high performance RCA jack is mounted on the side chassis to accept the incoming digital signal. A custom made digital output board is mounted inside the DCX2496 unit to peel off the serial data buses, masterclock and voltages from the modified DCX2496 board.
 
3 high performance RCA connectors are mounted to side of chassis to allow 6 output channels:
Digital Output Connector 1 carries Channel 1 and 2
Digital Output Connector 2 carries Channel 3 and 4
Digital Output Connector 3 carries Channel 5 and 6

All stock analog circuits, both input and outputs remain active!!
