Are there significant sonic differences between a BP20 and BP25?

Hi Yogus,

NO the preamps are identical other than the BP25 has a motorized remote volume control.

James - apologies if covered elsewhere in forum.

Can BP20 be later  modified to support motorized volume control (i.e. BP25)?

It can but it is a major job - new circuit board (to accept the remote parts) - new faceplate - new volume control etc.

Phono stages

What about adding the MC phono stage?  Same for both chassis?  Prices?

I've got a Denon DL-103 cartridge that's only 0.3 mV so I need plenty of gain.  At least I may think of doing this later--this would need to be coordinated with the factory, right?

The MM and MC stage can be added - no problem. It would have to be done at the factory.
The MM is $400 US and the MC is an additional $600. The faceplate has to be replaced and the rear panel has to be re-labelled and a ground connection installed.
