A 2 lp set, great SQ, 'WALLY' in the dead wax, this is the same sound engineer who did some of the better Beatles things with Capitol.

Thanks Chris, I sampled the Milt offering you linked, on my shopping list they go.

Now to find an excuse to get back down to Joe's Record Express.

If you mean Joe's Record Paradise in Silver Spring, you can just come by my place and listen to some tunes.  I got some extra classical records I can dump on you.  (I picked up a 2k collection since the last time)  I should have a new phono stage to checkout after the RMAF show.

Ack - just there last Tuesday. I don't know why I keep putting 'Express' in for 'Paradise', but I do.

All the more reason to get there.

Remember that 11 disk set of Wagner's "Ring" I posted back a few months, it's yours if you don't have it already.

How do you like that Arthur? I bought it months ago, still haven't listened to it, it's in the 'to be cleaned' shelf, and I just haven't gotten to it.

Like you et I'm not big on free form, so I've only got a limited amount of Coltrane and most of it earlier work & side stuff. This was the 1st 'Trane CD I bought years back, and liked it enough I bought the remaster. While the original release is a pretty good Japanese pressing, there is definite improvement with this later release. I don't feel they lost any of the presentation, but they did lose the tape hiss. It's a close one between this & Blue Train for my favorite of his at the moment, but there's a lot of his work I haven't heard yet. I just pulled some more from the shelf as I haven't listened to them in a bit, so I'll get re-acquainted myself. I'd avoided him in my ealier listening days due to the free form work he was mostly known for at that time. This one shows some hints of that development, but is pretty solidly 'classical' jazz, at least imo.  JD   :thumb:
