Yes sir, came across his work back in the 70's on vinyl. Still have a couple those, and got a good bit of his library on CD. Guitar jazz is one of my favorites, and while like most artists not all his work is a homerun, can't think of anything I've heard that I disliked. There's a number of ECM folks I really enjoy, Terje Rypdal, Ralph Towner (of Oregon) both also on guitar, and Eberhard Weber on Bass. ECM has a lot of good people on their label.

Enjoy the journey, he's got a fairly varied output. Two of my old favorites are Arcade, by his early quartet, and Timeless. Happy listening  :thumb:

"The Blues and the Abstract Truth" - Bill Evans et. al.

+1 - Great version of 'Stolen Moments' on that.

Free Form- Joe Harriott (Gott) advancing the art of Bird (1960);
Promises- Michael Garrick Sextet (Vocalion) with Joe Harriott.  He's sweet and lyrical on this and in a fine group.  Love this, in fact.

Slow Traffic To The Right- Bennie Maupin (Mercury).  This album was made in the seventies when Herbie Hancock had begun to introduce funk into jazz.  It is a milestone.  It just feels sooo good.  Check out Patrice Rushen's note perfect solo (and with great sound of her piano) on the opening track.  Or, be square.

Scales- Manfred Schoof Quintet (ECM).  German Record Critics' Prize Album of the Year (late seventies sometime).  Not a year goes by I don't listen to this.  One of my classics.  Speaking of which, The Jazz Crusaders- Live Sides (Blue Note re-issue series courtesy of Pacific Jazz tapes).  Effin smokin!  The first two tracks in particular and fortunately they are long ones.  Intense, drivng blues!
