Originally released on Blue Note Records in 1995, Joe Lovano's Quartets: Live At The Village Vanguard was named Jazz Album of the Year by readers of Downbeat Magazine.

JazzTimes (6/91) - "..one of the best of all Cannonball live albums."
Principally recorded live at the Half Note, New York, New York in December 1967 and January 1968.

This is case where 96/24 really does sound better on an older recording.
Kenny Dorham - The Complete 'Round About Midnight at the Cafe Bohemia
Personnel: Kenny Dorham: trumpet; J. R. Monterose: tenor sax; Kenny Burrell: guitar; Bobby Timmons: piano; Sam Jones: bass; Arthur Edgehill: drums.
Down Beat (May 2002, p.60) - 4 out of 5 stars - "...This is one of only two recordings by Dorham's ensemble that have survived....triumphs over time..."
Recorded live at the Cafe Bohemia, New York, New York on May 31, 1956.
