Having acquired an FM-3, plus a spare EMM801 magic-eye tube, I'm interested in a set of boards.

Rebuilding any formaldehyde-phenolic board is difficult, even with a temperature controlled desoldering station.

Do let us know when these are available.

Could anyone perhaps share the electrical characteristic of the sections of the PA-509 transformer used in the FM-3?

Yes, I saw this resource, thank you.
I want to say that the use of UHF blocks on one board is not desirable.
It is also not advisable to use two-sided mounting in devices with a power supply of more than 250 volts.
I made gerber files of PC-7, PC-8, PC-12 PCBs, leaving the correct installation but improving the screening between the conductors. After checking, I'll post these files here.

Hi,
Can you please upload the gerber file of PC-7 using GAA10006 trimmer.

A member over at the The Dynaco Tube Audio Forum named 'Stewdan' set me up with the web files for the threads up to reply 44 of the original 'Double Dose of Fine Tuning!' thread & up to reply 32 on 'Our "Second Dose" of "Fine Tuning" - A TOTAL Dynaco FM-3 reconstruction.

I put them in PDF format on a Google Drive. Here are the links:

Coming to the party very late, but here goes.

I have a pair of working FM3s.  I would like to rebuild one completely, starting with new PCBs.

I have several options for PCBs, the first being to buy some from someone.  Sadly, I can't find anyone selling them.

Next option is to have some made.  This of course requires some Gerber files.  Now, I could lay out some boards myself, but that's a lot of work and lots of room for error.

I see that someone DID lay out some boards and even made the files available here.  That's probably a better option than doing it myself. More sadness though: those links are now dead.

So, can anyone help me with a source for boards or links to those old gerbers or ...

Thanks in advance.

Alan

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
Maybe you could google Dynaco FM3 or Dynaco FM 3 price.

Ahh, why?  Neither would get me a link to FM3 PCBs, which is what I'm looking for.

Try here:

I used the single board and other parts from them. The single board looks out of stock. May want to contact them for an ETA.

I am interested in purchasing the FM3 pc boards or the gerber files that arindamcc has. I’m a new member who doesn’t have my 3x posts so I can’t direct message. : )

I’m rebuilding an FM3 to go along with the Fisher X-202-B I listen to every day. My FM3 works, but the PC-8MX is warped and I don’t think it will survive the rebuild. I’m looking forward to finally having a good valve-tuner.

Thank you!
