« on: 8 Aug 2009, 07:22 pm »
Just came out in this issue of the Absolute Sound.

I had two speakers in there this year that received my handiwork.  :thumb:

AV123's X-Statik and the Usher BE-718.

I would've thought you would be the last guy to have trouble sourcing cabinets.

I can have a hundred of them made from several sources, but to have a good US source for small runs has proven to be a problem.

Back to the Editor's Choice award..... Congratulations, Danny.  I haven't heard the Usher, but I remember hearing the prototype X-Statik.  It still has to be the absolute best bang for the buck speaker out there.  It just did so many things sooooo well.

Congrats Danny! You are one of my top two favourite speaker guys! And you're great to introduce other small companies that offer high value for the dollar as well, i.e Virtue Audio, Majibuss, Electracable, etc...with the right room and a budget of <1K, the X-statiks are a no brainer if dipole is what you want.

I thought two of the members who own cabinet shops were doing cabs for you.  One of them was giving me a hard time for using paper-backed veneer   I would think that with new home construction down, you could find a cabinet shop with excess capacity that would be happy to do small runs for you.
