Are you sure it will be all JBL speakers manufactured in Mexico and China vegasdave??

Yes, I am sure. I talked to a guy that works for JBL. No more JBLs made in the US. Either Mexico or China, or a combination of both.

If this is the case, I wonder how many people are going to drop $40-$50K on a JBL K2 that is made in China or Mexico :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

It is the case. The K2 and Everest cabinets will be made in Europe.

Well, I hope the prices will come down considerably. You would think so.

Pretty much. But, there's some all US made units floating around, unless they all went to Japan. Then of course, there's the used market.

Great idea for a poll!

Krell amp-USA
Dynaudio speakers-Denmark
Target speaker stands-England
Dual turntable-Germany
Creek phono-stage-England
Pioneer blu ray-Japan
Samsung LCD TV-Mexico
Arcam CD-China
Zu Audio Cables-USA

There is a pride of ownership in items from certain countries.  In the end though it comes down to how well equipment is made and performs.

Nope. It's the CEO's bonus that will go up considerably.

You think this is really going to happen?

I see that a large Japanese car manufacturer just offered their employees a 24% raise in China - apparently, it worked out to approximately $250 a month and some employees have not had a raise in 5 years. I look at my Chinese made KEFs with all the problems I have experienced with them and just shudder about JBL going this route.

As for Chinese or Mexican made K2s - suppositories may be a better use…

Time to ask James who does the software for the BDP-1..... While sometimes funny, indglish messages on the display wouldn't be that impressive, eh?

I really don't know. It's possible. Yeah, I'm not liking the idea myself. Maybe I can get my hands on US made JBLs when the time is right. However, all new drivers even for already made in USA JBLs, *will* be made in Mexico!

Maybe you should reevaluate the Klipschorns?
