UTC C-2080 Moving Coil SUT Step Up.  Ratio 1:30 with 100 ohm Primary & 100K Secondary.  Very popular SUT in Japan.  I've been using this with my Ortofon Gold SPU with very good results.  Price $300 OBO.

Any idea about a Denon 103? I think it needs 40 ohm. Sorry I don't know all the lingo, but was is 100K secondary? A switchable setting?

Hi Paul,

from what I've read the DL-103 likes a 1:20 ratio and the 103R 1:40 ratio. The turns ratio of the step-up transformer multiplies output voltage by its ratio.  The UTC C-2080 should work well with both the DL103 & 103R.
This Step Up does not have a switch because it only has a single primary of 100 ohms.  The primary receives the input from the cartridge and secondary refers to the output.

Not much on the net about these transformers.  I had read about a couple of Sutman SUTs using these transformers with SPU's and DL103s with good results.  Maybe more info in Japan since these are more popular there.
