Octal Cornet, Almost finished.
« on: 20 Mar 2004, 12:01 pm »
My otcal cornet is almost finished. Thanks everybody, who posted very very useful cornet DYI articles in this section.
It sings, but there is hum. I have to debug this hum. After reading the hum related articles in this circle, I am going to figure out the frequency of the hum by my poor oscily. And I can here some distortions and eletrostatic sounds, maybe because of poor solderings. I must fix them, too. Anybody have good articles such as Hum encyclopedia?

But even with noise, the sound itself is very nice and clear. I have to confess that I used the world cheapeast parts so that I paid $195 for this cornet. I am sure I will update the signal path parts to quality ones. I have 1uF hovland caps ready.
I have to say thanks, especially to Jim for his nice circuit. No negative feedback is the winner of RIAA equalizers.

It looks like I will be happy enough with my all tube systems.
