Buying my first road bike BMW G310R

Grew up riding  dirt, but now want road bike (delayed middle aged crisis??) Want light, small displacement machine. Going w/ BMW G 310R. Naked. More std than sport, which I want. Fantastic build quality, as one would expect, but at very reasonable price point. Savings by assembly in India and using knockoff Showa fork and Brembo brakes.

Factoring in spending $1500 to so on protective gear. Want an Arai helmet. Even the entry version is $600. Then 2 piece suit, boots and gloves.

Maybe heresy on an audio forum, but I took a pass on a great deal on my dream speakers. I'd rather get out and live than sit home on sofa. Yeah.....mid life crisis for sure.

Well its a light bike, and can be speedy too, congratulations.
When I was a bike club member I have see the vintage BMW R90 and R100 was more reliable than others bikes, on japanese bikes Intruder VS1400 are reliable too and cheap, and the shaftdrive dont broke as current bikes.
