Title: Allen Organ Amps
Post by: tipatina on 9 Jul 2019, 12:38 am
A friend of mine found 3 of these in an estate. Two are identical and all 3 appear to be mono. Understand all would need to be put on a variac and gone through. Anyone have any experience with these in an audio application?

They might be made by Coda, who I know has made private label amps for Legacy, who used to build speakers in the Allen Organ factory for many years.
You might find mfg markings on the main board.
Any good high end audio tech can go through them before startup. Maybe replace the storage caps as precaution, give a full inspection, clean out the dust, etc.

From what I recall seeing, there were multiple iterations of the amps, some tubed, some solid state. Posting a picture of them would help identify, etc. Will Vincent has sold remanufactured versions of the tubed Allen Organ amps on Audiogon for many years.
