Dear Everyone,

I am considering the purchase of a BDP2, but my router is located on the second floor of my home while the stereo is in the basement.  It would be difficult to run a wired connection so I am curious if anyone has connected a BDP2 wirelessly to their router.  I have a Netgear R6300 router that can be set in bridge mode to enable gigabit wifi connections using a second R6300 router.  Has anyone tried this or other approaches?  Have you had any success?

Best,

John

This morning I will purchase another R6300 router and let others know how this works.

I use one of these. I have been using it for a couple of years and it has worked well.

I have a Linksys router that all our Macs go through (direct connected or wireless).  I have an Apple Airport Express connected to the BDP-2 which allows the Macs to get to it wirelessly through the Linksys router.

It was easy to set up using Airport Utility (and a bit of help from Chris :D).

Setting up the second R6300 in bridge mode was very simple and I have finally updated the firmware on my SP3 after two years.  The only downside is now I have to reprogram the distances and volumes.

Hello,

Wireless bridges generally work rather well, but a few customers (2 by my count) have had issues updating the firmware using them.  The firmware upgrade process would simply fail the checksum stage and wouldn't continue with the installation.  Otherwise you could explorer powerline As kits as an alternative.

Cheers,
Chris
