What a guy, that Capitan of Humility. Enjoyed meeting him at RMAF and hearing about him and his restarante'. If I was at the LSAF I'd be there.
Enjoy and have a good time.

I'm in (as Hugh posted). What is the address? There is one in Frisco near me but I don't think it's the one everyone is referring to :)
-
The Addison location if only a few minutes away from the LSAF venue. It's the most convenient.
-
Ah, thanks for the clarification. Also, I was using my phone previously, and I didn't realize the post above mine had a link. Lots to do in Addison.
-
when i saw that oysters dodie :thumb: i'm in :inlove:

Good early evening everyone,
My name is Halen and am new to the forum. I am getting back into home audio and look forward to expanding my knowledge. I will be attending LSAF as well, as it is pretty much down the street from me.
Marvin, thanks for letting me know about this site!
Cheers,
Halen

Welcome to Audiocircle, Halen, and glad you will be at the LSAF. I hope that you can make it to Dodie's friday for a bit of socializing with the group. If you are just getting back into audio the guys can provide answers to all your questions- all different answers for the same question

I am driving from Houston on Friday to attend LSAF.
What time are y'all planning for the dinner? I can try to get there on time, depending on whether I can leave work early enough that Friday.
-
Thank you Scott. I do look forward to meeting more people in the circle of audio around here. What time is the dinner planned? I may just end up having too many drinks and oysters! LOL.

Good question. What do you think guys? 7:00? 7:30? 8:00? We want to makes sure that exhibitors have plenty of time to close up shop for the evening, yet let us get back in time for any after hours listening sessions.
I'm all ears so let me know what the group want to do.
-
We should set a time to meet up at the Dodie's Seafood.
They'r open till 11PM, so 9PM should give everyone plenty time to get there.
:thumb:
-
9 is a pretty good idea.
Everybody usually hits the free happy hour at the Embassy at 5 :D, then heads back to the rooms for the night session.
People could shut down at 8:30 and make it to Dodie's by 9.
-
okay, I can certainly make it by 9pm. Please count me in..
-
Can I add 2 more to the list? The gents from MG Audio Design would like to join in on the fun. I can't wait to meet everyone.
-
Unless there is a complete revolt, let's say 8:45. Some may be a bit early, some a bit late. Also, lets try to get our approximate numbers settled by this Friday, April 27.

I will be there. This sounds very exciting!

I'll need you to keep me awaken during dinner. ;)
Too old to stay up late. :D

I can see it now, 12 old guys snoring around the dinner table. Sounds like my kind of social outing! I'll call Jeff today and make sure that he has been following this thread and is expecting us.

Thanks Scott
And don't forget Halen "halenhoang"
-
hey, i can still drink with the beginners
-
Whatever # we end up with, I'll ask for a couple of extra seats for anyone that adds on late. I'm sure that Jeff will accomadate us.
-
ATTENTION!!! We are going to make a change. I spoke with Jeff, and the Addison location is no longer under his management... so we are driving the extra few minutes to go to the Carrolton location. Google "Dodies Carrollton" and it'll give you a map.

Fellow AC'ers
I will be heading to the Lone Star Audio Fest after work today. Will anyone be there this evening? I will not be able to make it to Dodies. I would still like to meet everyone, but chances are I may knock out drinks at the hotel. LOL. Will also be attending the LSAF tomorrow as well. In case anyone is going and I have not met anyone yet aside from Marvin, I will be the Asian wearing short sleeve blue shirt and blue slacks. Hope this does not make me a target. hahaha. Happy Friday all...

Every time I go to an audio fest I come away with something new. This time, at the top of the list was Dodie's Seafood. Thanks, Captain Humble, for a wonderful meal. I didn't order the Oysters Dodie Fri night, so I had to bring friends back for lunch Sat--- where I bumped into another group of guys from AC that also couldn't get enough from the previous night. Great food, great company, and a gracious and generous host.

Well, this has been one of the best food that I have tasted in years, mushrooms and Dodie's oisters were fantastic! Thanks for arranging this. :D
-
I've been to Dodie's the last few years at LSAF and Friday night was the first time I got to meet Jeff. :o
Great guy and wonderful New Orleans stories - also fun to hear the background behind a lot of the menu items.
Delicious again and a fun group of people.
-
It was a fun evening for sure and the food was great too!!
-
I can see why it's a tradition to go eat at Dodie's when you attend LSAF.
Food: outstanding!
Service: excellent!
Company: couldn't ask for more.
Captain Humble, thanks for the entertainment, and the excellent repast.
John
Can't wait until next year....
