I am thinking of upgrading the stereo playback of my 20 year old Bryston SP1.7 Surround Processor/Analog Preamp based system by adding a BP-19 preamp, because of all the good things I am reading about it. I need the "Theatre Bypass" feature for the BP-19 to mate with my SP1.7, so I am hoping that it will be added soon, as was done with the BR-20.

Cheers
Dave

James,

How does the 12 volt trigger work on the BP19?  It doesn't have the same connector that the BP20 had.

BTW, I like the way Bryston packs their product for shipping.

Oh, what kind of battery does the BR4 use and how do you change it.  I don't see any info on that.

Thanks!

Scott

Traded in my BP-25P (upgrade to BP26P) for the BP-19 MM/MC which I received yesterday.  First I believe the BR4 takes 2 AAA batteries and +12v trigger takes a 3.5mm connector.  Replacement connector available on Amazon. Order a “repair” connector.  6 foot red and black wire NOT a stereo connector.

I really liked my BP-26 but it was getting a little long in the tooth (20+yrs), so I decided to purchase another one.  Surprise discontinued. I didn’t want an all in one BR-20 and saw the BP-19 and ordered an MM/MC model.  Honestly would have been happy with identical performance. But I was surprised….so far, more inner detail and separation and a smoother top end. That’s my impression and we’ll see how it sounds in 100 hours.

Greetings. Couldn’t  agree more.  I’m running the same combination at home received the BP-19MM/MC last week.  I’m sure this will become a big seller.
