Hi Jim,

I was just looking on your site tonight about the Cornet2.
This may be my first kit. My skill level is "mount parts and solder".
Is it to advanced for my skill level?
Is the manual pretty well detailed on wiring the transformer?

Steve

Steve,

I was at your level and successfully built my Cornet2.

Just be organized, check part values and follow the manual and you'll be ok.
The transformer hookup was a breeze, but be sure to hook the grey wire to ground.

One thing to look out for is the low Heater voltage.
It seems the original spec for this resistor was off.

This thread duscusses both issues: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=96500.0

Have fun,

Steven

Yes it will!  In a radical and fantastic way.  A spectacular new kit.  I've hired a 3D mechanical designer to start looking into creating a translucent plastic housing for it - which will then be part of a new full-kit.  My plan is to do a www.kickstarter.com project to get enough up-front funds to pay for the mold (I have to order perhaps 1000 parts) and initial order.  My guess is that a full-kit will be $99 and assembled at $149.

That's the plan anyway.  I expect the timeframe to be secondd half of 2013.
