There's never been a better time to get into (or back into) audio. Internet CD quality streaming allows anywhere access to millions of albums for $20/month or less. Very high quality DAC/preamps are available for $600 or less. And active (one built-in channel of amplification per driver) loudspeakers have finally started to become popular with lots of options with prices starting at less than $150 apiece. Just plug in a computer or streamer and you're all set. And we've learned more about how speakers/subwoofers behave in-room.
