Title: Doorbell Chime
Post by: Don_S on 6 Jan 2024, 12:55 am
Can anyone recommend a loud doorbell chime? The one that came with my new home sucks. It is hard to hear especially the first rings after not being used for a while. It needs waking up. Many neighbors have the same one and have complained. I missed my FedEx delivery today even though I was home all day.

I am not looking for a Ring or anything fancy. JUST LOUD! and wired. I wish they were rated in dBs.

Thanks for any help.

Amazon - $50 Loud doorbell. Reviewers say it is louder.
Craftmade CL-DW Designer Loud 2 Note Door Chime for Larger Homes, Designer White (7.88" H x 7.88" W) https://a.co/d/5WLR7Qx

The wireless type, like Ring send alerts to you phone or watch… so, might be better for what you want.

Theoretically, since you already have one installed… this would be a ‘drop-in’ replacement. Ie keep old transformer & doorbell.

Thanks. I need to check if my system meets the requirements for voltage and cable gauge. Description is very adamant about requiring 16V and at least 18 gauge wire.
