Thanks for the warning -- I get the feeling there are a few things I wouldn't want to walk into blindly around here.

Hello,
New user here.  I'm out in far west county.  My primary system is Khorns powered by Christensen Modulus-86 & Christensen preamp.  I'm working on a Pass Aleph-J, we'll see how that works out in the next few months.

  Glad to be here!

Nice to have you here.  I would be interested in knowing more about the amplification you are using.  I think there is quite a bit of interest in low power/high efficiency systems within GAS.  I am sure other members will be commenting as well.  I am in the Creve Coeur area and listening with high power and no tubes at the present.  You are always welcome to come by and do some listening.  Give me a shout if you have some time.  Best, Kent Johnson

Welcome, sounds like you need a couple of SET amps. Hmmmm.

Hi Kent, thanks for the welcome.  The Modulus-86 is a design by Tom Christiansen of http://www.neurochrome.com.  It is based on the LM3886.

You probably already know about the Pass Aleph-J, I haven't heard it yet because I'm still collecting parts.  Thanks for the listen offer, I may take you up on that sometime.

Yep, I've thought about that.

Welcome aboard!

If you ever decide to take the SET plunge, I've got a pair of Welborne 300B DRDs for sale. Won't find a finer sounding SET on the market.

Scott,
Can you give me a call to discuss the preamp you still have available?
Thx

Welcome to group!  I'm not so far west in west county (I-270 & Manchester).  My system needs to be reconnected after the room rearrangement, but is based on Bozaks and 6550s.

Hi everyone.
I live at the other end of the state in Joplin, but have STL roots.
I graduated from Washington University
and I am a diehard Cardinals fan.  I make my way to STL for several games a summer.
I am looking to start a new system in my office.
At this point I am drawn to Omega speakers powered by a SET amp from Decware.
My front end is a Basis TT and a RB300 I just had rewired.

Be sure to let us know when you're headed up for a game. I'm sure we can get some listening time in before you head downtown for the Cards.
