Hi all:
I'm looking for a bit of help here. I came home last night and pressed the power button on the 540A, nothing. I pressed it again, and instantly smoke started rising from the top left front. I immediately unplugged. Looks like the protection circuitry never engaged. Any ideas? Thanks.

Pop the top and inspect the unit to see if you can determine what fried though it probably won't matter as you will very likely need to send it in for repair. Hopefully it's still under warranty.

dont open if its under warranty-they might not honor it saying you opened it

Thanks guys...I'll get it sent in. Not sure that I want another one. I'm glad I didnt leave the unit on for the day, may have come home to no house!!

That's scary, hope they get you fixed up. The thought of having it torch your house is frightening.
