I've had this unit since being stationed in Germany starting in the latter 1980s. I've kept it well maintained, and over the past 15 years its been employed as my MM/MC phono preamp (and for my cassette tape deck - yes, still have old tapes). There have been zero issues the past years running the low output Denon 103R into the the NAD's MC phono section, easily more than adequate gain and absolutely quiet at all volume levels.
The 1240's MC phono section is a great piece of kit, even after these many years of perfect service.
