Hi. I am seeking any input from users who have the linear power supply, any of the two-three variations. I have the nuforce icon hdp dac/headamp/pre-amp, and am interested in the lps. Some questions:
What are the main applications for the lps? (ie, what are the ideal conditions for getting one?)
Does anyone have the lps with an icon hdp? If so, what differences have you noticed using the hdp with and without the lps?
How is the lps integrated (connected) to the icon hdp?
Which lps is most appropriate for my rig (1,2U-96, 2U-192)?
I currently use the icon hdp as my dac, pre-amp and headphone amplifier in a computer based rig. I have the hdp output to audioengine A2 powered speakers, and also use the headamp with my audio technica headphones (l3000, es9w). I am getting some less sensitive hifiman cans (he-500), and while fang says they can be driven by regular headphone amplifiers, I'm wondering if these cans, when paired with an icon hdp, would benefit from an lps.
