Anyone interested in getting together sometime in the next couple of weeks at my place in Cary, NC? I've been stupid-busy recently, but now coming up for air. If we have a few folks who are interested, LMK and we can sort out a date.
Cheers,
James

Bring gear/food?
-
Count me in......Let me know what to bring please.
-
You are welcome to bring food. We'll have some food and beer, too.
Since my system is a digital one, some analog equipment might work better for plug and play.
Bring some headphones, some amps, some speakers... whatever you want (and your back will allow) :D
We can get started at noon, run until 8ish
Address is
[redacted] PM for details

James,
Can you post your system details? Does your system accept balanced equipment/interconnects ?
Thanks,
Anand.

Woohoo, fun time at James'!
Thanks to James and his wife and kids for allowing us to invade and noise up the place. Lots of good music, good sound, good conversation and laughs.
Alon speakers were very impressive. Sealed bass driver had excellent extension and kick.
James' DIY open baffle active speakers sound awesome. Using RPi for crossover and control, and HK Rx for DAC and amp. Very nice!
Nice to meet Todd and Steve.
Can't wait til next time.

I had a great time as well. There were many highlights of this meet. First was meeting James' lovely wife who is a chef and as such all of us were surprised by the wonderful appetizer, main courses and dessert. Next, I had a grand time with James' 6 yo daughter who was kind enough to donate one of her artistic portraits to my growing collection and teach me some really groovy ballet moves. Next was meeting James again and checking out his dynamite setup- very enjoyable. Steve (sledwards) brought his very beautiful tube linestage design (by none other than Kevin Carter my diy tube guru & advisor). Steve's execution and soldering was superb and I say that with the eyes of an advanced diy hobbyist! Seeing Rich again was like seeing family, he always throws a joke in when you least expect it, it's like "come again, what?"). It was great meeting krustycat for the 1st time :thumb: I also was enamored by one of James' real felines - Asparagus.
On the way back I shopped at Cary's Trader Joe's and brought home groceries, redeeming myself!
Thanks again fellas...till next time!
Anand.
