Five different version,from left to right
No edges on plate and with no metal piece under top mica
No edges on plate and with metal piece round at both end under top mica

my "new" AVA AVAStar - sonically very similar to my beloved, departed Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 but an entirely different approach
A handsome unit which is very well built and it mates up nicely with the Magnepan 1.7s

Thank you, I'm a happy camper.  I went from two dead systems to two functioning ones.
The UV3 mates up so nice with the downstairs system and the AVA is just perfect upstairs.
Two totally different design approaches and different presentations to the music but it worked out just like I thought it would.

I got very lucky and obtained a motherlode of vintage NOS power tubes (33 Western Electric Hytron Smoked Glass 1625):


Plus a dozen Sylvania 1625's

Very nice Adrian.  The ECC32 is one of the nicest sounding tubes.
