I have an old Lafayette reel-to-reel player. Nothing fancy, I'm guessing it's a consumer-grade unit like an RK840 or 880. My problem is I don't have its power cord, and I'm a bit stumped as how to get a new one.

Here's what the power input looks like. Can someone tell me what kind of plug to buy? I'd certainly appreciate it.

If Japanese, will it require a step down transformer or a variac to get it to 100V?

Is this what you need?  From Monoprice or many other vendors

Nope. I have one of those and it didn't fit. The unit was used by a family member in the US in the 1970s, so I doubt it needed a transformer.

Seems like it would be easy to convert to an IEC connector..

Or just hardwire a new power cord.
