Congratulations Dan.

Having heard your preamp I can say that it is certainly well deserved.

Hi!
There is another review which featured the Modwright SWL9.0
its at
http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue18/ultimatemonitors.htm

Its actually reviewing the Bruce Moore M225 amplifiers but the reviewer got to hear the modwright and liked it so much that he felt it trumped his refernce pre amp and he bought one:)

Congratulations, that is quite the honor.  From what I've been hearing from fellow rave members, this preamp is the real deal.

My neighbor has a Krell/Sonus Faber system.  Every time I go over to his place the presentation bugs me and I keep telling him we need to drop my Modwright into his rig "just to see" what it might do.

Well, we did that and he's utterly giddy.  The soundstage expanded by 3-4 times in depth (precisely what I've noted in my rig) and tonal dimension went from hi-fi to much deeper in tone and bloom - not mushy, but with realistic, wooden, instrumental body.  Is the system perfect now?  Not at all.  But, it's so much better that it's now enjoyable for me to listen to where before it was a constant annoyance.

Most importantly, I'll be shocked if he doesn't buy one.  I'm leaving it with him for a few weeks while I'm on vacation and I don't think he'll be able to stand having it gone.

Thanks!

Well, I am sure the Modwright thrumped the Krell!
I bought the Modwright to use with my Odyssey Mono Extremes, replacing the Tempest Pre I had.
The sound is now  significantly better than before. Its much more musical now, accurate, smooth highs with great micro details, fantastic instrumental seperation such that everything is no longer congested when the music  gets complicated, deeper soundstage, and generally much more coherent musically, which is the final end point isn't it, the music.
Great product, Mr Wright!
