I seldom recommend anything. Everyone's taste is different, and none are the same. But this is so uncommon that I have to recommend. I became a big fan of Valery Ponomarev. His performance at Live at Vartan-006 is superb. So excellent that I became a fan.You must hear him to believe it.I am including a photo of the album so anyone can order it.this is what one reviewer said:"If you know what real jazz is all about this is the recording for you."
Jazzy I'll add this one to my list. Thanks!
Thank You,I didn't know if anyone paid attention to my posts.Thank you again.
Hi & I'll add my 'Welcome' jazzyguytheone, to the jazz thread. Yes, I think I can say we all note each others posts, we just don't always have or take the time to make note as jimd & ACHiPo have. No slight intended, and don't think your contributions aren't appreciated. Keep 'em coming, some good lookin' stuff there. As was noted everyone's tastes differ, and speaking for myself, I don't always take time to check out samples or research a given album at the time it's posted.
I dug up this sample of the album for others that were intrigued by JazzyGuy's review and recommendation. Reminds me a bit of Doc Severenson? I'm going to keep an eye out for a copy.Valery Ponmarev: Autumn in New York Sample
