I found this 3 album box compilation entitled "The Bass" on Impulse from '73 at a thrift last week in unplayed condition. First listen.

Thanks AD, It was a great lp. I discovered that I am missing Pharaoh Saunders albums! I love that stuff.

John McLaughlin & the One Truth Band

Columbia

This is one of my favorite McLaughlin albums & shows. I only wish he did more with The One Truth Band. This album has Fernando Saunders, Tony Smith, Stu Goldberg and L. Shankar. The show I saw had TM Stevens on bass & Sunship on drums. What a great concert!! The back up group was the Billy Cobham Band and Sunship smoked Billy that night with his incredible energy. I have a live simulcast of the show that I recorded on cassette back in '78 that I plan on transferring to R2R.
