Oh yeah! It's surprising that R.Miles doesn't get more attention ... has something to do with the looming shadow of Fripp, me thinks.

Some amazing dynamics on that KP. Need to do more digging on both of them. That was a gift from friend, prior I'd not heard either to my knowledge. Though from the sound I'd say you're assessment is spot on.  :thumb:

Here's one that should test those Vapors just fine, and I'd suspect you have it.........

Jazz Vocalists: Hear and Now is a fine sampling of jazz and pop artists interpreting contemporary material on disc one and jazz standards on disc two. These previously released tracks include legendary vocalists like Little Jimmy Scott, Nancy Wilson, Abbey Lincoln, and Ernie Andrews along with current favorites Diana Krall, Kurt Elling, Kevin Mahogany, and Cassandra Wilson. Also making appearances are pop singers Joni Mitchell "Don't Worry 'Bout Me," Linda Ronstadt "Cry Me a River," and Norah Jones "Don't Miss You at All." ~ Al Campbell.
