Not too far off from Arthur Dent just above- Gary Burton "Like Minds" with Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Dave Holland and Roy Haynes. I have seen Corea and Burton live (separately) and hope to see Metheny sometime. "What's It All About", the new Metheny release on solo baritone guitar, has also been in "heavy rotation".

...the last recordings Michael Brecker made before his untimely death in January 2007...with Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau, Pat Metheny, Jack DeJohnette, and John Patitucci.

dB - cool that you've seen Corea & Burton. Burton's on my list, possibly Corea. I love the two live albums he did with Herbie Hancock at Carnagie Hall. Haven't had the opportunity so far, but did see Metheny in a solo show about 20 yrs ago here in Seattle. Well worth the trip into town, he put on a great one. The "What's It All About" is on the wish list.  8)

Kellye Gray-  The Pink Songs (Proteus Recordings).  Engineered by Andy Bradley, the best out there that you've probably never heard of including those you have, at Sugar Hill Studios in Houston.   Recorded live at a downtown venue called Ovations.  This woman is a phenom.  Wait till you hear Monk's Well You Needn't and Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil.  NOBODY sings like she does.  Her intonation, scatting (sometimes thru a trumpet mouthpiece), and range is mind boggling.   She knows how to caress a lyric, too.   Boy, howdy, she does.

This is part two of two CD's available separately, Blue and Pink, A Live Concert, and it is a sonic sumthin else.  You won't believe the ambience.  Do yourself a favor.
