Hi !

Looking to buy and audio rack either timbernation or Mapleshade (want mass / wood). Also talking to a local cabinet maker friend. Anyways if I have one made how well will these work? Meaning can they support 100's of pounds between the rack and components ? My issue in the room is bass resonance

Thanks in advance Tim

My system is VPI Prime, McIntosh MA-7000 and Golden Ear Triton Ones

  • So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
I used to own a really heavy wood cabinet. It was a PITA to change cables. That was long ago. Now I use a glass and steel open design shelving unit. The main claim to fame is I have it not between the speakers, but over on hte side wall, with my turntables even further away.
Tte main rack in not right up tothe wall, so I have plenty of room to change cables, all that sort of stuff.
All those commercial racks are open on all sides for a reason...(not just to be cheap_
So consider that if you have one built.

Welcome!  Lots of choices, including the ability to design your own - http://odysseyaudio.com/Odyssey-furniture.pdf

I needed one for an integrated AV system so I had them make the below to my specs (and finish of my choice and had matching speaker stands made too)
