Energy Pro 22

I have had my Pro 22s for 8 months now when I got them I did not realize that the tweeters were blown. I suspect the seller did not know either, there is only one person in the world, that has the gear & know how to rebuild them [chris@abtech.ca] a Canadian, good luck reaching him, he is a busy man who rebuilds speakers on a  piecemeal basis, his website is abitech.ca , it is a bit outdated, his price at last contact was $424.00 for the pair, getting back to my 22s,. they are outstanding, they are rated from 20-120 watts but Chris says he has run them up to 240 watts, they like a lot of headroom, so ideally, you would like to run them with an amp that pushes at least 100 watts. The birthday of my 22s is 1987 .the tweeters are unique. Google has lots of info online about them, there my babies and I  cherish them dearly. They are definitely keepers.

I had the ref 22’s  back in 1988. Bought them new. They were quite good back in the day. A bit recessed in the presence range, but CD’s sucked back then so it made most digital more listenable.

The magnetic fluid in the tweeter dries out after a few years and they usually cook if you put some power through them.

Restored properly I would imagine they would be quite a good value. They do sound really good.

Kind of surprised you "cherish" anything about 30 year-old loudspeakers with blown tweeters
