Hello, I am New Here, Christopher Bogdon, SoCal

Hello folks, I am Christopher Bogdon from Los Angeles, Ca, and I am joining this group to get caught up on multiple
brands of Audiophile equipment I am interested in and/or impressed with: Luxman, Bryston, Odyssey, ProJect analog, Clear Audio, just to name a few...
My system, has evolved several times, been sold due to divorce, and rebuilt to a modest set up today including:
Luxman SQ-N150 Integrated Tube Amp, ProJect Extension 9 Turntable, Sumiko Songbird MC Cartridge, Matrix Element M Streaming Box,
Odyssey Audio Bookself Kismet Speakers, a mixture of cables:
Mapleshade Helix Speaker Cables, Mapleshade Ribbon Interconnects, Cobalt Cable Digital Toslink, and Cobalt RCA Interconnects.
I am also eyeball deep in analog synthesizers: Mavis, Taiga Keys, Key Lab MKII, SpectraVox, Beatstep Pro, and Eric Synth Drum Machine.
But that is for another time, on an alternative, parallel plain. BUT IT CEMENTS MY COMMITMENT TO ANALOG...TIL I DIE....
I look forward to interacting with other members, once I am deemed worthy.... and have submitted enough viable subject matter.
Which will be my pleasure...
Cheers, Christopher.
PS: and for those of you that I have interacted with in previous life's, HMU and lets chat again. Life continues
to be a journey, and today, more than ever, I find purpose and direction through creative expression and education.

Hi, welcome to AC
Iam a analog synthesizers and tape mellotron fan also, not a musician or tech.
They have a amazing rich sound with superb harmonics content.
Its sad to see/hear how poor digital synthesizers/pianos sound.

Thank you fro the reply back. And yes there is a bit to tbe desired o a lot of the smaller units. Not too familiar with some of the higher price point
digital units, but I would think at some price point, there would be a quality sounding unit; maybe a Prophet? I don't know?
But I will ask how you feel about some of the Roland Drum Machines that have proliferated the synthesizer market for some time. There are the classic 707, 808,
909, and then they made a whole line of boutique recreations of those classics; and then there are the analog versions of late the TR-8 and now they have a
TR-8S that is capturing all of the digital signatures of the 909, 808, 707, from the Boutique recreations, and making them part of the very broad database of
sound offerings on the TR-8S.
Do you have any thoughts on that whole journey that Roland has been on for 30 or 40 years now, Gosh that seems like a long time (because it is; and I am just
getting old.)
And for the Record I am A Moog user for sometime now, and recently added the Taiga Keyboard Semimodular, as well as trying out some of the Arturia
higher end Beat Step Pro Sequencer, and their Midi Controller Key Lab Mk II. And have you ventured into the Whole Midi Merge, Midi Control box rabit
whole?
Have a great day, sorry if I talked your ear off. Just as passionate about Analog and Semi modular Synthesis as I am about analog vacuum tube Hi-Fi.
Regards,
Christopher.

Also want to acknowledge Phil A, Arthur Dent, and George AB:
I appreciate the friendly welcome. It is always nice to get a tip of the hat, and a hello when you are in new places. so thank you for that.
For as long as I have been associated with like minded Audiophile folks, there has been a common ground that facilitated a warm
demeanor amongst us. So, coming back after a spell away, it is nice to see that it still exists. So, thank you. Sincerely, Christopher B.

Hi,
Iam a analog synth fan, just a fan not a musician unfortunately.
Some early digital synths had a interesting sound as PPG Wave and Korg.
I especially like some early digital era 8 bits digital machines from Europe.
The modern Japanese synths are strong in engineering.
