SA-1 amps
« on: 21 May 2012, 02:41 am »
i'm going to build a sub using a dual voice coil driver, it's rate for 250 watts @ 4 ohms per coil. Can I use two SA-1 amps, one powering each coil?

I don't think I'd try that, and I am all out of SA-1 amps.

I have the amps, why are the reasons you won't try?

  Thanks, Mike

Danny is the SA-1 discontinued or just out of stock?

Mike,

If you are going to try to control one woofer with two amps then be sure that the amps are getting the same signal. If you send one a left channel signal and one a right channel signal then at times each amp could be trying to control the woofer in a different way, fighting each other.

Nick,

I am not having any more SA-1 amps made.
