I'm looking for something to roll up my headphone extension cable when I am not listening.  As opposed to hand-coiling it, with the inevitable tangles and kinks after a few times, or winding it around some kind of form.

Audiophile grade, of course, would be best... :green:

Closest thing I have been able to find so far is this (they also make an instrument version of this, which is probably very close to what I want -- not sure about the "brushes" they use to manage the rotation, though -- is that how all these retractable-type reels work (power, air, lubricant hose, etc?  Guess they do need some type of rotating coupling in there...)

There are some available for short, 3.5 mm type cables (not what I want), and this (which is close, but too short):

There is at least one online tutorial about making a retractable USB cable device by converting a retractable dog leash.  However, most of those are either flat tape or very small cable.

Ideally, I'd like to find/make something that will hold the 20' extension cable I use with my HD600's.

I'm pretty sure your gonna be the inventor!! Lol... I've seen small versions and the dog leashes you mentioned- which would be too big for me. If you find one out there please let us know ok?

Stage Ninja does make one with a stereo cable (Model INS-26ST)--might give them a call and see how much it would be with a female phone jack instead of dual males.  Amazon sells the mono version for under $30, which isn't a lot in terms of what we often spend on tweaks to our systems.  If Stage Ninja's price for a male-female stereo cable isn't ridiculous, maybe I'll give it a try and report back.
