How so et ?  Good, bad   :scratch:   Allow me to rephrase - style-wise 'classical', modern, smooth, or free form ?

                  The Dave Brubeck Quartet:  Time Out - Legacy Edition   disc 2

                   Though not really, as disc 2 is a collection of recordings from the Newport Jazz Festival '61, '63, & '64, previously unreleased.

I saw this band on tour...Metheny was the weak link in the performance, imo.
If you were expecting a Metheny-like recording, you may be disappointed.
I haven't played this in ages, time for a refresh.

Had to take Song X off after 1 side, free jazz not my cup of tea.

If I want something that I don't get I'll listen to Bitches Brew. In fact, since it's the start of a new month, lets;

Miles Davis: Bitches Brew (180g) 2LP
Miles Davis (Artist) | Format: Vinyl

That's what I was thinking. That's the first thing I think of when I see Ornette.   :thumb:

Just ordered:

Bill Dixon Orchestra- Intents and Purposes, an underground masterpiece from the 60's re-released just this year (International Phonograph);
Out To Lunch- Eric Dolphy (Blue Note);
July Flame- Laura Viers (Raven Marching Band), not a jazz release.

If you don't have it already, you need to track down a copy of 'Time Further Out (Miro Reflections)'.

et - Don't yet, but will put it on the list. If he hasn't already have Pman give you a copy of dr. Lonnie Smith - Jungle Soul. Some smooth & funky Hammond B-3, I think you'll enjoy it.

He owes me a visit, though he's busy putting in a new heating system in his home, so I wont bother him.
