Soundtrack from Ascenseur pour l'échafaud with some additional studio cuts. "On December 4, he brought his four sidemen to the recording studio without having had them prepare anything. Davis only gave the musicians a few rudimentary harmonic sequences he had assembled in his hotel room, and, once the plot was explained, the band improvised without any precomposed theme, while edited loops of the musically relevant film sequences were projected in the background."

Gerry Mulligan meets Ben Webster

This 45 RPM reissue is brilliant.  It makes up for the hassle of getting up after 1-2 songs!

Just listened to the "Unauthorized" DSD file of Dave's True Story (http://www.allmusic.com/album/unauthorized-mw0000055518).  Hadn't listened to that in ages.

Listening to this fine Contemporary right now. Fantastic sound as is typical for the label, even without DuNnn or Holzer at the board. This one was engineered by Lester himself in Feb 1969. Heavy on the blues tip, Elvin misses a few changes, but overall a killer trio recording.

Try zooming out on your screen.  75% should do it.
