rajacat - fwiw you can resize some images, depending on how the address is coded. Do a quote on this post and check in the {img}  listing at the end just prior to .jpg {/img}. Any image that contains the 'SL+number' can be typed over to get the desired size. In this case the original is 1200, which I downsized 500. Just thought I'd share. Doesn't work on all images, but handy on occasion.

And 'Yes' imo the Real Gone Jazz remasters are on the whole a steal. I've got a batch; Donald Byrd, Oscar Peterson, Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff and more. Good sound & a really nice price.  :thumb:

They played together many times years before. What do you know about Humpty Dumpty that I don't?  :o

Have never been able to get into Monk.  Need to give him another shot.  Suppose it's a bit like eggplant.  Or Pinot Noir.  My tastes change over time.  I also need to find a good used record store in the Bay Area--this paying $30 and up for records is getting expensive!  We had Everyday Music in Portland, and it's where I got most of my records.  Some of which were junk, but most responded very well to a vacuuming with my Nitty Gritty.

AC,
Try Amoeba Music.  One of the best and largest used record stores I have ever seen.  There is one in SF (Haight Street, I visit when I can) and one in Berkeley.

Lots of everything:  LPs, CDs, videos, books, etc.  Music from around the world.  And their hours are late.  Happy searching.

Got lucky at a performance by Ra-kalam Bob Moses recently.  He had a copy of a record he'd made in his early days, 1967-68, the days of The Free Spirits.  It was never issued at the time, but it is an early entry into the jazz-rock of the time.  Issued by BM in 2012.
Love Animal
Jim Pepper, tenor
Larry Coryell, guitars, vocal, bass
Steve Swallow, acoustic and electric bass
Keith Jarrett, piano and soprano saxophone
Bob Moses, drums and vocals

It is all over the map, from a standard (Smoke Gets in Your Eyes), a more or less traditional blues from Coryell, to rock and far beyond.

:dunno:
I see a big Egg, smiling at me, makes me think of Humpty. Maybe the question is what do Coryell & Mouzon know that we don't ?
