I thought my fellow planar porn addicts here might appreciate these DIY full range electrostats built by my friend Roger (SM7UYJ) over at the DIY Audio Forum:

I would love to hear your Sanders electrostats.  Curved panels are in vogue but I think flat panel stats sound better.
I've not had opportunity meet Roger Sanders or audition his speakers but he's been a great inspiration to me and a nice guy too -- we talk by phone occasionally and he's provided invaluable help with my DIY electrostat project.  I have the Behringer DCX and DEQ that you're using too -- setup for 3-way, driving hybrid flat-panel electrostats and a pair of Ripole subs.  I've read mixed reviews about the Behringers -- some liking them and some alleging they're below hi-fi standards unless you mod them or bypass their DAC's -- but I'm very pleased with mine, right out of the box.

Great Looking system!

Nice Speaker Porns! Apogee Planars always strike me as the best looking in the planar group. May be it's just me feeling warm and fuzzy after looking so many porn.  :duh:

Oh well, for those with imagination it was a picture of Lonewolf leaning on the Calipers, with a beer in hand.

One of the problems confronting planar speaker owners is the low WAF (wife acceptance factor).   Many lady planar owners face the same dilemma.
Mine is a saint but even so, they do tend to dominate a room and resemble something from 2001: A Space Odyssey.  What the hell was that thing, anyway?

The answer struck me like a bolt out of the blue - what is required is the ever popular doiley and a nice gernaium trick!  My wife just loves it and I'll bet yours will, too.

And with the holidays coming up, what could be more festive than adding a little fake snow courtesy of a plastic bag from the grocery store?

Add a couple of blinking lights and your Xmas decorating is done with a minimum of muss and fuss.

The monolith? A planar speaker, of course. The aliens scattered them like breadcrumbs, in the assumption that we would want to acquire a complete set.

They saw that we were struggling with mono but weren't quite smart enough to develop stereo (let alone home theater)?
Now it makes sense, thanks!

Hey, Josh,
Where's the picture of your Tympanis?
