I was not aware that Ray bought a demo pair from PMC-Speakers and sold me the same speakers!  :cuss:

I purchased from PMC-Speakers authorized dealer (Raybeatav) therefore, I should be covered with full-warranty against defect in workmanship and materials.   :thumb:

The question is how do we fix my veneer problem?

Thanks Ian.
Levi

Ouch, that is way uncool!!

I hope you get both issues resolved Levi.

Man this is enough to keep me away from the PMC. Good thing I didn't pull the trigger already.

Excellent customer service! Thanks Ian.

I promised to keep everyone posted.

I want to thank PMC specially Ian V.(mvwhiting_83) for going above and beyond.  He has helped me fixed my veneer problem and for helping me setup my OB1 speakers properly.  PMC is a small speaker company based in UK who really stood behind their products.  :thumb:

Thanks again Ian.

Good to hear about PMC standing behind their products because I'm very tempted to pick up a pair of OB1i or IB1 Pros. At list prices of$6500 CDN or $9300 CDN respectively you need outstanding customer service.

Hi Doggy,
I personally own PMC OB1i.
I have no idea what is the price of PMC OB1i or IB1 in Canada, but
if the look is no issue I would buy pro and higher in rank speaker.
IB2 is different to IB1 in mid driver, the same used in MB2 and BB5 no matter passive or active version.

Daniel,

you say that you would buy a higher rank in PMC speakers than OB1i.

- what is the reason?
- anything about your OB1i that you don't like?

Hi Alex,
what I what to say is that if your aim is higher possible speaker you can afford.
If the look of speaker doesn`t matter go for studio finish. I`m happy with my OB1i, but if
I have to buy a new one I would buy IB2i or MB2. I missed the opportunity to buy MB2 prior to buy OB1i and there aren`t many occasion to find a second hand one of these monsters.

Daniel,

what speakers did you have in the past and what was your personal reason to go for a OB1i?

thanx,

Hi Alex,
I had in the past JBL E90 and later switched to Epos M12.2.
I`ve spent thousands of hours reading in forums and on line magazines to find out what should be the speakers.
I auditioned PMC in Vienna and was astonished by the sound and PMC became the prime target.
PMC partnered with Bryston and I changed my audio gear from NAD to Bryston.
The bass driver should be placed at on end of a long tunnel like done in PMC, the mid driver should be isolated in own enclosure and preferable construction proved by ATC and PMC is the Dome like the tweeter.
Now I can enjoy my CD for hours on end with no fatigue and irritated booms made by other constructions .

Just like with Bryston gear people tend to think that these speakers are violent performers but the truth is that they can be pleasant sounding at low levels. It is not only about power. Level of details they present to the listener is unbeleivable!
When pushed hard they can kick like a mule!
In my eyes these are above any HiFi competitor despite their 10+ years old basic construction.
Only drawback is the overexpensive metal stand below them.
In studio black they look COOOOOL!
No wonder they are high on wishlist of studio engineers.

Nice one predrag

Ya rounded that up in a nutshell mate. I'm a fully qualified welder by trade, and I almost had a fit when I saw the the price of their stands  :o  Its criminal.

I'd knock mike Tyson out and bite his ear off for the prize of winning some MB2's

Though the ones in the picture aren't the ones you want (MB2 'S' are  :thumb:) Tried and true.

I was told by the owner of a pair that if i heard the MB2s in action well setup, it'd make me want to burn my OB1's  :flame: OB1

The problem is that the smaller consumer speakers they offer "hint" at that good bass performance their best for. And it soon gets you craving more like a drug, then frustration kicks in, and rising prices only help to distance the upgrade further. Their all great speakers absolutely and much respect for PMC from me, I love their/my speakers and will be seeking to upgrade to more PMC in time to come.

Everyone is different though, but that's how it is for me.

You´re reight bassman!
Those stands cost here i Europe over 1500 USD!!!
As a qualified welder you can make them much better for a fraction of PMC´s price.
I am an ex OB1 user, current EB1i user and future MB2 user!
That´s how it is in this hobby. You are not alone.
Not cheap hobby but imagine being a sports car lover or yachts....

Cheers!

There is a difference isn't there. Thanks for the headsup. The MB2S could be the way to go.

Was told recently by Funkyjunk pro audio, that there is a price rise iminent on the studio range. Though not sure if was just a sales tactic?
