Hey,

New to AudioCircle in the Bay Area.  I'd love to join you guys if timing works out and there is room.

I am also thinking about external DACs.  Anyone got any impressions?

Thanks,
Chris

Do check Rick,
it will be good to have you...
T

Gary, you around?

Checked my calendar and the 7th is bad for me, I go away for a week on the 8th and there are Honeydews to be done on the 7th.  I can recommend both Sonny's system and his hospitality, so I am sorry I will miss this one

If that day/time works for me, I would have a Wavelength Brick Tube DAC and Monarchy NM 24 Tube/SS DAC to bring along is the host is amenable to the idea.

Ok, seems like the tentative count is as follows:

Rob
Bill
Charlie
Rasiki (spelling)
Nikhil

Also, regarding the DACs...I was thinking just really doing some listening and not swamping in/out components...though I am curious in Nikhil's SimAudio LP5.3 phono stage...

I'll send you guys a email regarding address when we get closer...

Thanks
Tuan

Is there another Rob? My handle here on the circle is Rashiki, but my real name is Rob and I sign my posts that way.

Relatively a newbie to AC, but got in touch with Tuan because of his magic cables :) who cordially invited me to the "rave". As Tuan mentioned, since he is curious about the LP5.3 phono stage, I'll be getting it with me. Any other party favours ? Beer, Wine ? Looking forward to Jun 7th !

All, I am looking forward to it as well.

There are some options in regards to food.
1) I ask each of you to bring something, be it a salad, aptz, and/or drinks and I will provide some meats, I was thinking either doing a carnitas or making chilli...
2) we can have snacks at my place, then walk over to the Can't Fail Cafe, a block away and have burgers and drink more beer...

Opinions?

Snacks and a trip to the Can't Fail Cafe sounds good -- they have Guinness and a selection of New Belgium beers on draft.

I'm bringing a case of Sam Adams if that's okay. Can't fail cafe sounds good to me. Yo Tuan!!! Don't go overboard on the snacks and stuff. Usually the host puts out way too much. Not necessary.

Tuan, if this is a listening rave, should we all be bringing music? If so, what format? Vinyl, CD, hard drive, wax cylinder?

Sonny/Tuan - do you have room for one more?  My show, and thus trip, got canceled and I'll be around (thankfully) on June 7.

Ditto on what Rob/Rashiki question above, too  8)

Also, what time does it start?
