This is a post I put on the VMPS forum and a response I got from Brian any suggestions here. I guess I'm leaning toward the 240. Has anyone compared the two amps head to head?
I am finally getting an itch to change out Amps to go with my new 626Rs and I have narrowed it down to Van Alstyne 240 and 260 the 260 only has about 5 more watts than the 240 but it supposedly has "twice the thermal and current capacity" and is recommended for speakers down to 2 ohm impedance. The 240 is supposed to have basically the same circuits but is recommended down to 4 ohms. I tried to look up the impedance on my 626Rs and all I could find in the specs was 4 ohms - but I think this can very. Any suggestions, is higher current capacity something I need for my 626Rs or should I save a couple hundred bucks? I may post this on the AVA forum too.

The 626R is an 8 Ohm system with a 4.6 Ohm minimum impedance. Either amp should work fine, ask Frank.
