Hey Bill.....

Just posted.  Used 20x HO, low hrs, good price.

http://app.audiogon.com/listings/cartridges-dynavector-dv-20x-high-output-moving-coil-homc-cartridge-made-for-vpi-table-2015-01-24-analog-90066-los-angeles-ca

No affiliation w seller, just a heads-up.

Thanks for the heads up.  I just messaged the guy.  I'm thinking this is the prior model before the 20x2H came out.

I'll keep you posted.

His pics are a bit dark, but it appears the mount holes are threaded.  Version 1 (I own it) has unthreaded mounting holes, nut required.  Version 2 has threaded holes.  Also, v2 says 20x2 on the body.  V1 doesn't have the final "2".   I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe there are sonic, or any other, diffs.

For awhile Dynavector was making "special edition" versions of 20x specifically for VPI.  They had different markings on the cartridge body.  Also, the output was only 1mV vs the normal 2.2.  Be sure to confirm this with seller, as he says it is the VPI version and 1 mV will be  too weak for your MM section.  Dunno if the VPI special version was the v1 or v2.

My MMP3 Soundsmith phono stage needs a minimum of 2.0mV output from the cartridge.  If the one this guy has is only 1mV, it's not going to work for me. The latest version DV-20x2H has an output of 2.8mV.

Sold already.   Knew it wouldn't last at that price.

It was a GREAT buy, but it wouldn't work for me in my set-up with the Soundsmith MMP3 phono stage I have.  Somebody got one helluva deal! :green:

Did you confirm that with seller?   His ad says output is 2.5mV.  More than enough.

He never answered my question.  Besides, I thought you said it was sold!?!  :?

It is.  You seemed to state definitively that the output was too low.  So I asked if the seller confirmed that.

His ad was a bit confusing / contradictory in that he states the output as 2.5 mV,  yet says it is a VPI special edition which I believe are 1.0 mV.

Doesn't matter.  He probably sold it before your question, explaining his lack of response.

Yeh, when price is good, and you know it's good, best not to futz around trying to squeeze a few bux outta it, lest you lose it.

Well John, I finally lucked out. I guess the third time really is the charm!  The same guy that I missed out with the other day, listed again. I don't know if the other deal fell through or if he has a few of them (apparently he's an A/V dealer in Quebec) but I don't care. $608.00 US including shipping!

Congrats Bill.  Hope you enjoy it.     :thumb:

Lately I've been enjoying my 20X-L (version 1) on my Townshend Rock 3/ Ittok setup.  It's really good.

I wouldn't worry about buying  from Canada.  I've done it many times, never give it a 2nd thought.  Canada post works just fine, and avoids brokerage costs / customs delays implicit in using Fedex or UPS.
