« on: 27 Oct 2012, 11:17 am »
I'm sure there are and have been posted somewhere so please forgive me.  Where can I grab some DSD samples from?  Oh some good stuff not elevator music like most of it.   :duh:

By samples, you mean free?  Blue Coast has a bunch, especially if you sign up for Cookie's newsletter.  And there are servral on 2L's test bench (sourced from 24/352.8k).

http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html  (15 DIFF files at the bottom of the page)

Thanks.  I was hoping to find some rock that I could compare to my other formats.

Thanks. I was looking for some DSD files to use so I could play around with configuring the outputs on my computer. I'm currently trying to find someone to back up some SACDs for me. A moot point if it isn't going to sound good.

Just curious about something. I download a free sampler from Channel Classics that included a DSD file. It plays on Bifrost DAC, which does not support DSD. I'm assuming that Pure Music is automatically down rezing the file to 24/192. Is that correct?

Ys, most likely.  You imported it to PM as a DSD file?

Yes. And iTunes shows the data rate at 2822.4 khz. Now, if I could only swing that Sonore DAC...
