Guitar shielding and wiring.

Per requested by Hantra. Here're a couple of links to how to shield the guitars, and do fancy wiring mods.

Wirings-

I've found a 20 W soldiering gun works best.

Aluminum foil tape is very cheap (about $3, 4 a roll. Enough to shield at least 4, 5 guitars) and readily available from plumbing supplies. I use silver based tin from Sears.

Cooper paint is easier to apply.

An old broken guitar string is an excellent tool to guild/pull wires through the internal channels. Also for wiring purposes, like wiring pots, etc., much easier to hadle than wires (Have you try to hold down a tiny piece of wiggling wire onto the connecting post, while trying to apply the tin and use the soldiering gun at the same time?)Just cut to length, then, poke it through the little holes on the pot's/switch's connector posts, it'll stay put, unlike electrical wires. Coat the guitar strings with NON-MATALIC finger nail polish, after soldiering all the contact points.

WORK IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. THE SMELLS FROM THE SOLDIERING TIN CAN KNOCK YOU OUT AND MAKES YOU SICK.

Double check everything, especially with groundings. Or you might get shock.

Actually. Get a few different colour finger nail polish, so you can colour-code the wirings.

You can also apply a small piece of electrical tape on areas that are too tight/close to the shielding materials, as an insurance. But the room is usually tight.
