 Why would you want to add something in the signal path? Or are you going + to - here? A single large choke should make a poor zobel filter. Obviously I'm no expert. I don't see this working or Magnepan would of already done it.

Well, the inductor is not a Zobel filter.  It's essentially a switch that disconnects the speaker from the amplifier at high frequencies.

Anyways, it's not the end of the world if a component is added in the signal path....there are quite a few of those already.....and most of them less innocuous than a simple 10uH inductor.
