going to pick up a new X box one X when it comes out.
Want to hook it up to my HiFI 2 channel rig.
Only problem is my Elsye DAC only does not have an optical input. :cry:
Anyone have any ideas which would be the easiest high fidelity solution?
I have a DM 36.5 Modwright pre amp also not sure if that helps.
thanks a lot

I think that optical to s/pdif adapters are fairly easy to find.

I suspect that you can pay a premium for premium parts. I use one of these with good results (again, no affiliation);

Good luck. Cordially,

Will i lose a lot of fidelity by using those converters?

I can't speak to the first one I listed, it was just an example. As to the second one, one I actually own, it is sold in part to improve fidelity. I have enjoyed having it in my system between my DAC and my s/pdif sources. Of course, YMMV. Cordially,

so that second one converts optical to digital coax?
can seem to find cost for it, also do I buy it from that site?

You keep mentioning outputting analog audio into your Elyse DAC. The DAC only has digital inputs.
But yes, you can connect the Xbox One X into your Oppo player via Toslink optical and the Oppo analog output connected to your Modwright preamp.

Nice so my Oppo 205 can decode the digital audio and then output analog to my DM 36.5.
The Oppo will mix down to 2channel stereo.
This sounds good.
Thank you
