The Skylan stands are the sand-filled ones that are recommended for use with these speakers.  They have floor spikes, and are sitting on a carpet-covered concrete floor.  Since the stands are coupled to the floor with the spikes, do I want to decouple the speakers from the stands?  One recommendation was to use ebony blocks between the speakers and stands.  Any thoughts on what to use and what the benefits may be?

Square Fat Dots always do very well with speakers on Skylan stands. Customers commonly mention improved bass definition and you'll likely get subtle improvements throughout the audio spectrum. Sure, isolating/decoupling the speakers will bring out more of the speakers' best inherent potential.
